2) the cut will keep your hair in shape which will make it easier for you to handle yourself at home.

hair careAfter A Colour
Shampooing: We recommend that you DO NOT wash your hair for at least 48 hours.
This period of time will allow the colour to completely stop the ‘Oxidation process within your hair, after the colour has been removed from the hair.
Your designer will recommend the correct choice of shampoo required for you to use at home for your colour. We have a number of Sulphate free shampoos and colour / sun protection shampoos we may advise.
Conditioning: hair after a colour service is a MUST !! We have a number to choose from that are specifically designed to assist with the maintenance, manageability and moisturising of your new colour. Your designer will recommend the correct choice of conditioning products from the ranges that we hold to maintain your colour.
If you are a swimmer BEWARE !! Swimming in a chlorinated pool is NOT good at the best of times, but with a new colour it could be disastrous!!
DO NOT swim in such a pool for AT LEAST 48 hours, preferably longer if you can. The newly deposited colour molecules need time, as previously mentioned, before being attacked in this manner. When you do go back to your swimming it will be essential that you use the correct products to keep your hair clear of all these damaging chemicals.
We would also advise that you thoroughly wet your hair with clean water before entering the chlorinated pool, this will help the hair at absorb less chemicals.
Your designer will recommend the correct choice of products required to safeguard against this damage occurring.
If you have a blonde shade of colour either in blocks or Hi-lights PLEASE be very aware that these chemicals may turn your fresh ‘honey’ coloured lights into something more resembling a shade of Khaki.
Please use a professional colourist for any colour you may require, your designer will know how much chemical treatment your hair can handle without it being detrimental to the condition of your hair.
Caring for hair permAfter a Perm.
Shampooing: We recommend that you DO NOT wash your hair for at least 48 hours.
This time allows the keratin fibres within your hair to completely harden back into their new shape before being disturbed too soon. Your designer will recommend the correct choice of shampoo required for you to use at home for your perm.
Conditioning: hair after a permanent wave service is a MUST ! We have several to choose from that are specifically designed to assist with the maintenance, manageability and moisturising of your new perm. Your designer will recommend the correct choice of any of the conditioning products required.
If you are a swimmer BEWARE !! swimming in a chlorinated pool is not good at the best of times, but with a new perm it could be disastrous!!
DO NOT swim in such a pool for AT LEAST 48 hours, preferably longer if you can. The newly formed hair structure from the perm needs time, as previously mentioned, before being attacked in this manner. When you do go back to your swimming it will be essential that you use the correct products to keep your hair clear of all these damaging chemicals.
Your designer will recommend the correct choice of products required to safeguard against this damage occurring.
When you want to make your curl spring back to life inbetween shampoos, always use a moisturising ‘spritzing’ spray, such as Awapuhi moisture mist.
Always use a styling product to control the curl or movement whilst it is drying. NEVER attempt to brush or comb your hair until it is completely dry. If you are naturally drying your perm or natural curl, NEVER brush your hair, except just before you are  going to shampoo it, ALWAYS use a wide toothed comb ( ask your designer to recommend).
Always be gentle with your hair when styling with a brush and hairdryer. Any stretching may result in permanently weakening the movement or curl that your perm has given you. Your designer will give you all the advice you need in order that you may be able to, successfully, style your hair at home.
Always remember if you want to have your hair permed and coloured, the perm MUST be done first. If time allows wait at least a week before having your colour applied, except in the case of ‘PM Shines’, please ask your designer about these colours.
PLEASE NOTE IT IS COMPANY POLICY THAT WE DO NOT PERM BLEACHED HAIR AND WE DO NOT BLEACH PERMED HAIR.
General advice for handling your hair.
After thoroughly cleansing and conditioning your hair, treat it gently. Squeeze out the excess water with a towel, DO NOT RUB DRY! This will only serve to ruffle the cuticle layers of the hair making the hair tangle and when dry will appear rough, dull and brittle.
Always detangle your hair using a wide toothed comb, starting at the ends and working back gently, in sections, towards the roots. Without pulling or tugging at the hair.
Use your finger tips to gently massage and stimulate the scalp.
Caring for your new Balmain hair extensions.
Long beautiful hair is a sign of radiance, health and luxury. To maintain your Balmain extensions in premium condition just follow these simple steps and your hair will remain radiant, healthy and beautiful.
Brushing: When brushing your hair it is always better to use a large soft bristle brush. The Balmain brush is recommended, although we do stock a number of suitable brushes ask your designer for the best brush for your hair, as this will ensure the hair does not snag or catch your extensions or natural hair, as other types of brush might. using the recommended brush will leave the hair shiny and in optimum condition. We recommend that you begin brushing at the ends of the hair, then move up to the mid length and finally brush the root area. At night time gently tie your hair back in a loose braid or twist; this will help prevent tangles and knots.
Cleansing: First brush your hair thoroughly, then soak with warm water, we would suggest that you do not turn the head upside down but always wash from the crown down. Next apply shampoo, we recommend using the Balmain cleansing shampoo, but we do stock other suitable cleansers ask your designer for the best one for your hair. Distribute your normal amount of shampoo at the root area; gently massage in small circles over the scalp area, this will cleanse both the natural hair and your extensions. There is no requirement to scrub the mid-length or ends as these will be cleansed sufficiently during the rinsing process. Rinse thoroughly and repeat if necessary. Pay particular attention to the bond area to en sure thorough rinsing.
Conditioning: All hair needs conditioning whether natural or extensions. To condition we recommend you apply Balmain conditioner every time you wash your hair. Apply the conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends ONLY, do not apply to the scalp or bonds, gently massage, distributing the conditioner thoroughly. You can brush the ends using your soft bristle brush. This will help ensure every hair is coated thoroughly with conditioner. You should leave the conditioning treatment on for a minimum of three minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes. Once conditioned, rinse thoroughly with warm water. You should consider completing your after care routine with Balmain shine spray as a finishing spritz, or the Balmain hair Mask, as a once a week treatment.
Towel Drying: After rinsing squeeze excess water from the hair and wrap a towel around the head and gently pat towel to remove moisture from hair, avoid rubbing at scalp and hair. Next gently brush hair with soft bristle brush, beginning at ends, moving to mid-length and then roots.
Drying and Styling: You can leave the hair to dry naturally or blow-dry. If using a hairdryer we suggest that you use a low heat and a soft bristle brush to style. Once dry, you may style using heated rollers, hot sticks, curling tongs or straightening irons. 100% human hair and memory hair up to a temp of 160* only, do not use these styling methods on fibre extensions. DO NOT SLEEP WITH WET OR DAMP HAIR, ensure if drying hair naturally that the hair is fully dry before going to bed. Sleeping with wet or damp hair may cause matting to extensions and natural hair.
Hot Hints: We recommend using Balmain shampoo & conditioner. Do Not use shampoos or conditioners that contain oils or fruit acids, such as wheatgerm or citrus, using shampoos that contain these ingredients could result in damage to your extension bonds and INVALIDATES YOUR 6 MONTH QUALITY GUARANTEE.
When rinsing hair, rinse for a few seconds extra as the extra volume created by your extensions may mean it takes longer to rinse.
We advise NEVER to sleep with wet or damp hair as it could affect the bonds or may cause the hair to tangle whilst asleep.
If you have an oily scalp wash hair regularly, as build up of natural oils could leave your bonds slipping or falling out, or shedding of extension hair from bond.
You can use styling products, if using serums, use sparingly and only on the ends. Speak to your designer for a personal recommendation.
Treat your extensions with the same respect as your natural hair. Good aftercare and a regular maintenance programme with your extension stylist will keep your hair looking great for longer.
If you regularly swim or are planning to holiday whilst wearing extensions we recommend that when swimming in the sea or swimming pool, you wear a protective bathing cap as the chemicals in the pool or salt levels in the sea may affect your extensions. We cannot guarantee the quality if adequate precautions are not taken.
If wearing extensions you should have regular maintenance visits with your extension stylist every six- eight weeks.
ONLY professionally colour applied by a professional stylist in the salon should be used on or around your extensions.
Kebelo Smoothing System.
Kebelo system offers two specially formulated aftercare ranges – enriching and revitalising.
as a salon we do also have a number of other sulphate free products that are suitable to use to maintain your smoothing service.
Each of the Kebelo ranges comes in a boxed set which includes a shampoo, conditioner and a weekly masque.
Using the wrong products will reduce the effect of the treatment.
Using the Enriching shampoo on fine, limp oily hair would weigh the hair down, making it lank and lifeless. Similarly, the Revitalising shampoo will not be moisturising enough on dry or coarse hair.
Kebelo products are completely free of parabens and sodium lauryl sulphate (sls) ensuring hair stays smooth, glossy and frizz-free for even longer.
The products are highly concentrated and you only need to use very small amounts. Using too much product makes the hair greasy, you will notice a rich lathering effect with less foam than you may have experienced with other shampoos.
Enriching: aftercare retains essential moisture in naturally dry, coarse hair.
Revitalising: aftercare balances moisture levels in naturally oily, limp, flyaway hair.
