Absolutely incredible transformation today at the grove experience. I went from being a deep red (years of red colouring) to a baby blonde and it looks fantastic. I’ve been going to this salon for a long time since 2006. Very friendly, welcoming, pleasant, knowledgeable staff. I’ve been seen by sally who did a terrific job with a bad hair cut I had elsewhere. I’ve seen kiki when she was a junior for colour and cut. Recently I had a colour, cut and finish by Amy who wanted to get it just right for me after having had shingles for 5 months and having scalp problems and thinning hair. I came out with thicker hair, beautiful colours, beaming like a cheshire cat feeling very happy. Thank you so much amy for making me feel and look good. I can recommend everyone. Love the half price colour days. I’ve also bought products to stop thinning hair loss which smell lovely and have lasted ages. all staff take time to listen and ensure you get a good customer service experience. Nothing is ever too much trouble even though they are always busy. From complimentary drinks to a head massage to a chair massage. "My second visit today. Up till now a perfectly competent person has come to my home to cut my hair but oh things had got rather stale. I chose Grove cos it’s so near me and I’m very glad I did. Friendly intelligent staff who do all they can for you from the moment you walk in until you leave. Your hair is not just washed…. you get to recline in an amazing MASSAGE chair while it’s done and a head massage is part of it. I went today and had a hair colour by Emma. The transformation is amazing, I couldn’t be anymore happier. She would tell me what products she’s using and the benefits of them. Overall the whole salon was lovely, including staff. Definitely recommend. Thank you Emma for doing an amazing job and spending all day doing it!!

After 7 years of being a (very dyed) red head, I spent months of endless attempts and strand tests to try and go violet. My hair was in an awful state and very resistant to colour. I had previously been promised the earth by several hairdressers, before the strand test results arrived, only to be told “You should stay red”. I went to The Grove Experience after a couple of recommendations from friends. I was not disappointed. Kiki worked on my strand tests to achieve the colour I had been after for so long. I had to have my hair bleached initially, in order for a semi permanent colour to go over the top. Again, something that other hairdressers stated would not be possible in the same day. I was very apprehensive about this, as I was concerned that the overall colour might be patchy or ‘orange’ in parts as I have dark brown roots and very dry copper ends. Kiki put me at ease about this and spent her time on my hair to achieve a very natural ‘bleached’ colour foils with a burgundy surround, before placing the violet over the top. She was very helpful with how to achieve the result I wanted. My hair is now in much better condition than before and after 5 hours of colouring, I was not charged anymore than a normal ‘full head’ of colour. Remy blow-dried my hair and did a fantastic job of making it curly and shiny, before explaining the products she had used. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is lovely – not to mention those massage chairs and head massages! They even nipped out to get me lunch. Fab place with lovely people. Thank you for making me love my hair again! Next appointment already booked.

I would just like to pass onto her my thanks as I have received so many compliments from so many different people. I was reluctant to have a layer put in my hair as it is quite thick and although it is shoulder length, I tend to need one length to keep the weight down – even with GHDs!! I am so happy with the amount of compliments I have received since Aimee styled my hair and it has given me a renewed confidence and is so easy to style. When I had my appointment, I asked Aimee if she minded if I just closed my eyes as I was recovering from a head cold, I opened my eyes to a much shorter and easily manageable style! Just had my hair cut and coloured by Sally today and I’m so happy with it! So friendly in there and my shampoo/head massage by Tom was great in my massage chair, really impressed with the salon. Would recommend to anyone!

I just had to write a review on Mia who coloured and cut my hair she was amazing the service from the beginning was great I was acknowledged straight away and offered a drink i had the hot chocolate that I have seen people mention it did not disappoint!. Mia was very patient with me as I can never decide what I want or what colour but we came up with a brilliant colour and she gave me a brilliant cut and did exactly what I asked “just keep thinning” lol. I also had the special ginger treatment which included massages again Mia did a great job. The conversation flowed and we even discussed ideas for my next visit. I’m so pleased I have finally found a salon that knows what customer service is all about Mia is a credit to the salon highly recommend her x

This morning I enjoyed my first cut and finish by Remy. Was wonderful that she took the time to my likes/dislikes, loved the dim lighted hair wash area with the massaging chair. A very chic modern and relaxed experience. My first visit after having the same hairdresser in London for 25 years and I would never look back. I was able to sit and chill, keep quiet or chat without feeling like I was the next gossip line. Head massage was fantastic. Attention to every detail was perfect. I was anxious as this was a big change for me and worried that the colour I wanted would be achieved but Gary put me at ease and achieved the perfect result !! Thank you sooooooooo much.

I’ve just downloaded the app, it’s fab! I’m a new regular customer only being enlightened to the world that is the Grove experience in the last few months. I’m a die hard Kiki fan, the woman is amazing, it’s like beauty and the beast when I come in. She transforms me from Hagrid from Harry potter into a vintage beauty. The highlight of the last few weeks was my visit to the salon, not only did I have a great cut/head of foils/blow dry but the treatment being cocooned in a snuggly blanket with the lights dimmed and an eye mask rejuvenated not just my hair but my spirits. It was real tlc when I needed it. The Grove experience is well named it truly is an uplifting experience which is full of enormously talented and very friendly staff. I had my hair done on Saturday by Lucy and was so, so pleased with the result. She gave me recommendations on how best to start of the process back to blonde! Larissa did my blow dry as well as washing my hair which was lovely, always nice to have a good massage! She did a lovely blow dry and I was really pleased with the end result. After being turned away from various hairdressers in Eastbourne whose stylists didn’t feel confident to tackle my hair as I am mixed raced, I found the service at The Grove Experience to be outstanding! Gio the stylist who totally restyled my troublesome hair today (1 May 2013) did a really fabulous job and really made me feel at ease and that I was in safe hands. Daisy the adorable little dog sat by my feet the whole time and made sure that everything went well 🙂 I have already booked 2 more visits to The Grove Experience and I’m really looking forward to going and being pampered like I was today. I will be recommending this salon to all of my family and friends and I’ll be taking my daughter to one of my appointments so she too can enjoy a full Grove Experience!

The whole Grove Experience was fantastic. I absolutely loved the massage chair in the chilled out and relaxing hair washing area, to the point that I almost fell asleep…..unheard of for me with the torture that’s usually the back wash basin! Gary cut my difficult, mind of its own, curly hair (equally relaxing) and showed me how to work the curl to my advantage. He spent a long time beforehand discussing style and cut and although I wasn’t having a colour, he patiently answered questions about my requirements, showing me his recommended colour choices and the best way forward for any future colour appointments. He showed me how to style and look after my new cut and what products would be best to use, all without any pressure to buy the products (which in my case will make me far more likely to purchase something). It’s quite pricey, but for the knowledge, experience and service, I think that it’s well worth it. After the appointment, my husband and I had been invited to the opening of a new florist in Eastbourne and I’m happy to say that I had many favourable comments about my hair; so many thanks Gary and the team and I hope to be back for the colour in about a month.

After my first visit to Grove Experience, I am happy to say that I got exactly what I wanted – A good cut in a very nice environment. I was especially impressed with the thorough consultation and I loved the atmosphere in the shampoo room!

Grove Experience and what a lovely experience it was. From my consultation . I sat down and was asked what would I like to drink, my consultation was through informative considerate and professional. Decision about style colour made appointment booked. My appointment was on time l was looked after with plenty of herbal tea . Coloured cut wash lovely massage chair at the basin blow dry and a new me I had a lovely 3 hrs and looking forward to my next appointment in 6 weeks. Friendly staff lovely salon decor.

Just returned from my second colour at the grove experience with Lucy. This time I had a full head which meant I was in the salon for over two hours but it didn’t seem like that long because I enjoyed 2 complimentary cappuccinos and a glass of water, a read of some glossy magazines and a lovely shampoo experience in the lather lounge. Unfortunately this time there was another guest in the massage chair but I still got to relax with my feet up while my hair was washed and conditioned. I like the way Lucy asks me first what look I would like and then she makes suggestions and talks me through what she is going to be doing and what the end result should be. She takes care to blend the shades together and is very friendly. Each time I have visited I have enjoyed the half price colour event which is lovely and a great way to introduce guests to the colour experience at the salon. Daisy the dog is beautiful and very well behaved! I will definitely be returning and hope to become a regular… i will recommend the salon to everyone, loved my experience(s) sally

It may be grey and cloudy outside but when you walk in to The Grove Experience you always get a sunny smiling welcome. A nice coffee and a good magazine and you are set to go, you will walk out with your head held high knowing that you look good, who needs the sun anyway! When a local shop assistant asks you “Have you just had your hair done? It looks wonderful and the colour is fantastic, where did you have it done” The Grove Experience” I replied. I’ve been to The Grove Experience twice now and both times have been great. I’ve had Kiki do my hair both times and my last visit was before a wedding and I had many compliments on my hair, felt great! I also love that they open on a Sunday, more time for us 9-5ers to get our hair done at the weekend.

Going to the hairdressers can sometimes be a chore, but the Grove Experience is fab! The stylist spends quality time with you asking what you want and giving advice. A menu of refreshments, and hair washed in a massaging chair!!!! Overall a great place and would thoroughly recommend. A real treat!!!!

They work as a team which is a great atmosphere to be surrounded by. The physical environment allows you to step out of your busy world and relax whilst you are there. Do not hesitate highly recommend a visit once you have experienced the Grove Experience there will be no turning back. I’m just writing to say that I used to hate going to the hairdresser – my hairdresser barely spoke to me and the salon was cramped and noisy. Now I love going to have my hair done. The environment and ambience at The Grove Experience is totally one of calm and peace. I very quickly become totally relaxed to the point that invariably I fall asleep!! The hair washing area is fantastic and the head, neck and shoulder massages are divine! Sally is always extremely pleasant and takes time to ask me if I’m experiencing any problems with my hair and what I would like to have done this time. I highly recommend The Grove Experience to all discerning people who value quality above price; it is well worth it.

I would like to say how thrilled I was with how my cut and colour looked having spent the morning in the safe hands of Lucy. It was my first time at the Salon and immediately Lucy put me at ease as soon as I walked through the door. She explained through out what products she was using and gave me hints and tips on how to keep my style looking great between visits. I love coming to the Grove, to have my hair cut and coloured by Hair Designer Lucy, who I can highly recommend. I trust Lucy with my hair and am always thrilled with the results. I had the Keratin Complex treatment at the Grove Experience last week and the results are completely amazing. My hair is usually really frizzy and hard to manage, it looks dry and I used to dream of having long glossy hair. After the treatment my hair feels really soft and silky, and I’ve been getting tons of compliments ! its never looked so healthy and shiny. I absolutely love it and definitely recommend the treatment and the Grove Experience to anyone with dry or frizzy hair. They will transform you ….

Well I sampled the Grove Experience this afternoon with Lucy and it was all perfect.! Totally pampered, head massage, vibrating chairs, loads of interesting drinks to choose from, lovely smellies in the ladies, Dasiey the dog to stroke and lovely products and company. I came out a very happy bunny 3.5 hours later. So I definitely recommend giving Gary and his team a go…

Last minute appointment

I really needed a haircut so I rang at 4 pm and managed to get an appointment for 5 pm the same day. I had my haircut by Taylor. The salon is very welcoming on arrival, Taylor talked to me about what I wanted doing with my hair. The chairs where you get your hair washed are fabulous, very comfortable with a relaxing massage. I had a lovely cut and blow dry with a lemon and ginger tea which came with biscuits and a mini pack of love hearts. All for £31.00. Taylor is a good hairdresser and made me feel at ease. This was my first visit and I can't fault the "Grove experience". My stylist Emma was lovely and very helpful with suggestions as to how to style my overdue haircut. The massage chair was wonderful whilst having my hair washed. I will definitely be going back...
